American Revolution 2008

All this talk about socialism, spreading the welth, the incredible popularity of senator Obama amongst the voters of all ranks and political parties made me think about Lenin, as in the leader of the 1917 Russian revolution leader Lenin.  I want to make absolutely clear that senator Obama is in no way reminds me of Lenin. Simply all this rhetoric and the current political situation in the USA have brought these thoughts to my mind.
Growing up in Soviet Union Lenin's extensive work was  mandatory reading for me, most of it went above my head, but some phrases and dogmas stuck in my  mind. One of them  is Lenin's definition of a society on a verge of a revolution.
Lenin wrote: "For a revolution to take place, it is usually insufficient for ‘the lower classes not to want’ to live in the old way; it is also necessary that ‘the upper classes should be unable’ to live in the old way".    (from http://leninist.biz/en/1981/PCM335/2.2-The.Revolutionary.Situation)

Isn't it precisely what is taking place in the American society. I mean the sweaping popularity of the Obama's "Change" message is driving working and middle class to the polls in record numbers while the ruling classes including high ranking politicians, Democrats and Republicans, realize that the old way is no longer an option if the country is to survive. This Election IS THE REVOLUTION. A peaceful American revolution. Lenin knew what he was talking about, sometimes, after all.
